Have you ever thought how cool it would be if you knew what someone in front of you was thinking. Or even, if the person is lying or not? Well, not every one of us are mind readers, but we can always take turns in estimating the truth and finding if someone is lying or not. You cannot always use a mechanical lie detector test to determine if a person is hiding something from you. However, you can always read for some verbal cues and the body language. Check out some of the ways to know if a person in front of you is lying or not.
Denial Or Failure To Answer
If the person in front of you is denying the answer, then you can be sure that he/she has something to hide. On the other hand, if the person is dodging your question without a direct answer, there’s something wrong, and you should be on high alert.
Even a verbal attack can speak wonders about the person sitting in front of you. If he/she keeps on verbally attacking you with something else, then you need to be sure that the person is lying or hiding something from you.
Too Polite Or Specific
When you are trying to find what is going in someone else’s mind, you need to look for certain cues. Is the person too specific or too polite? Anything which is different from normal denotes that the person can be lying or is trying to shake you lose. Be careful of that when you are trying to find the truth.
One of the ways in which you can know for sure if the person in front of you is lying is by looking him/her straight in the face and checking out the body language. For example if the person is not making an eye contact with you while speaking or breaking away the eye contact for some reason, then there’s something wrong. If the person licks his/her lips and hides a part of the mouth or his face, then there are chances that he/she is trying to hide the facts or distort them for some personal gains. A man might also adjust his tie and a woman might straighten her skirt or just fidget if you ask an uncomfortable question.
Now that you know about these body languages and these cues, you can be an expert to weed out the lie from all that is spoken to you. Make sure you do some research on the facts and not solely depend your decision or judgment on it.
